This collection of work is inspired by the modern industrial food complex, “comfort foods”, and the tension between bodily decay and the artificial permanence of chemically engineered sweets. These often hyper-saturated drawings explore the language of excess and consequence through surreal tableaus that may suggest a type of saccharine sweet nostalgia, but actually underscore our cultural obsession with the artificial and detrimental.
