Artist I have Recently Discovered: Trey Speegle

When I was a kid, my Grandmother loved to buy me those paint-by-number sets during my annual summer visits. Now I see it as her way of encouraging me to be a painter.
Artist Trey Speegle's paint-by number series functions as a visual vocabulary that he uses as a departure point. He  lives by Jasper Johns' credo, "Take something; do something to it; then do something else to it."
